GUJARAT GOVERNMENT SCHEMES 

1. Gyankunj E- Class Project Launched in Gujarat for Primary Students




Gujarat government has launched “Gyankunj E- Class Project” to promote digital literacy among primary students in all government aided schools in the state. All the primary schools will be harnessed with high class facilities across the state.
The aim of gyankunj e- class project is to provide the tablet to replace bags and books in all the primary schools and bridge the gap in education system. This scheme will be roll out by the state education department for Class VII and VIII students in the schools.
Initially, this scheme will be introduced in 2051 government schools out of 34,000 government primary schools across the state.In the first phase, 550 schools will be covered and gradually 5th to 9th class of every schools of the state will also be covered and the rest part will cover after completion of first phase.

Gyankunj E- Class Project

It is a major move by the Gujarat government towards digitization of education sector to making students burden-free by replacing school bags and textbooks with tablets. Under this program, the state government will distribute tablets to Class VII and VIII students of 100 schools.
As per survey, over 3173 classrooms of 2,051 government primary schools has been selected to reconstruct the classroom. Teaching in these classroom will be done with the help of 3D effect on school’s smart boards.
Under the scheme, the state government will issue grant to selected schools and classrooms to create infrastructure like whiteboard, computer, projector, infra-red camera, interactive software, wireless network etc. for digital and quality education in the government schools.
Education is the base of entire human life and the learning solutions will not only help build the base but will make the education roots stronger forever. E- class project is not only an attempt to encourage quality learning but it also help the process of learning by making it effective and engaging in innovative ways.

2. Mukyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana 2017-18 Gujarat Online Registrations at mysy.guj.nic.in
Online registrations for Mukyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana, a scholarship scheme for meritorious students in Gujarat have been started for the session 2017-18. The online applications for the scheme are being invited through the official website of MYSY Gujarat at mysy.guj.nic.in. Mukyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana online registrations can be done by the 10th, 12th and diploma/graduate students to avail the scholarship from the government.
MYSY Gujarat online registrations have been started from 1st September 2017 while the last date of registration of the scheme is 31st October. Under the Mukyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana, the state government would provide financial assistance to the eligible meritorious students in the form of scholarship.
New as well as renewal application are being invited through the same MYSY portal at mysy.guj.nic.in. The interested eligible candidates can fill the online application/registration form for Mukyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana for the academic year 2017-18 from 1st September.

Below is the step by step procedure to apply/register online for MYSY 2017-18 at mysy.guj.nic.in
STEP 1: Visit the official website of Mukyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana Gujarat at mysy.guj.nic.in
STEP 2: Click on the “New Application” link in the top right of the website homepage or directly click the below link

STEP 3: For new registration, click the link “If you have not registered plz. click for Registration” or If you are already registered, login by filling the required details and password. For renewal application, click the below link.

STEP 4: An application / registration form similar to below would open, fill all the required details and click on the “Get Password” button.
STEP 5: You will get the password for login, use this password to login to your account and complete the further steps of registration by entering your details such as father’s name, address, educational information, family income details and bank account details etc.
STEP 6: Once the registration is complete, you will get a MYSY reference/registration number which can later be used to check the status of MYSY application.

– Students who are the residents of Gujarat are eligible to apply.
– The total household income of the student should not exceed Rs. 4.5 Lakh.
– Students who have scored more than 90% in their 10th or 12th standard are eligible to apply for the scheme.

3. NAMO E-Tablets for First Year College Students at Rs. 1,000 by Gujarat Government
The state government of Gujarat has launched “NAMO” or “New Avenues of Modern Education through Tablets” for college students. The aim of the scheme is to distribute e-TAB tablets to around 3.5 lakh college students at a cost of Rs. 1,000 per tablet. Under the scheme, the government will provide 7-inch NAMO e-TAB for the first year college students. The actual price of tablet is Rs. 8,000 in the market but the Gujarat government is providing tablets at only Rs. 1000 to the students, rest amount will be paid by the state govt. as subsidy.
NAMO tablet will provide all facilities like voice-calling, front / back camera, study material etc. For this scheme, the State government has sanctioned Rs. 200 crore in the budget. The government has shortlisted two companies named Acer and Lenovo for the manufacturing of the tablets. So far, 154960 students have registered for the tablets.

NAMO Tablet e-TAB for Students

The main objective of the NAMO tablet scheme is to provide tablets to the students belonging to poor and middle section of the society. It will strengthen the hands of students and help them concentrate on their studies.
The tablet is being provided to those students who has passed class 12th and secured college admission. The motive of the scheme is to help the students with technological tools to access the internet for educational purposes.
This scheme is a part of the Mukhyamanti Swavlamban Yojana and the interested and eligible students can apply for the tablets under the scheme.
Interested student have to apply for tablets in their respective college at the time of admission. The students have to pay Rs. 1000 in college as the cost of the tablet. The college authority will maintain the record of applications for the tablets. After completing the all procedure, the college authority has to coordinate with the concerned department of Govt. of Gujarat for the distribution of tablets to the students.
The state government department will provide the NAMO e-TAB for the applied students to the college. This tablet will help the students in a great way in acquiring knowledge at global level.

4. Rooftop Solar Plant Scheme in Gujarat – Subsidy & Application Forms
Gujarat state government is inviting applications for its Residential Rooftop Solar plant scheme in the state. The government has already received 15,000 application under the scheme. The purpose of the scheme to motivate the people to choose for green energy. As per the scheme, the participants will get fixed amount against power generated through solar panels on their rooftops.
Under the scheme, the state govt. had made special provision in its budget and earmarked 35 crore covering 20,000 beneficiaries for the year 2017-18.

Subsidy under Rooftop Solar Plant Scheme

The cost of installation of residential rooftop solar power plant of 1KW is Rs 69,000. Under the Scheme, Centre gives Rs. 20,700 to individual for setting up a rooftop solar panel plant of 1KW capacity. The state government increased the assistance by Rs 10,000 per KW, with the maximum amount of Rs 20,000 per beneficiary.
Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) would be responsible for distributing subsidy cheques to the beneficiaries of the scheme.
Objective of Rooftop Solar Plant Scheme
The project is aimed at fighting with the climate change issue and motivate to develop the green energy.

Gujarat and Solar Energy Mission

Under national solar mission, The central government has set the target of generating 1 lakh MW grid connected solar power by 2022. Gujarat state has given the target of generating 8,024 of which 3,200 MW would be grid-connected power. Annual range of insolation in Gujarat is 5.82 kWh/m2/day. The state government has total installed capacity of 1,300MW including captive and commercial solar power plant, but rooftop power accounts for hardly 30MW. However, State government is using fully capacity to achieve the target at given.

5. Gujarat Shravan Tirthdarshan Yojana Application Forms & Details
Shravan Tirthdarshan Yojana is a new scheme launched by the state government of Gujarat under which the government would provide subsidy on tirth yatra expenses for senior citizens. Under the Shravan Tirthdarshan Yojana, the state government would pay 50% of the cost of travel expense by non-AC state transport bus, within the state.
The scheme is exclusively meant for the senior citizens of the state regardless of the community they belong.

Shravan Tirthdarshan Yojana

Shravan Tirthdarshan Yojana benefits can be availed by any senior citizen regardless of his/her community to travel to all popular religious destinations in Gujarat by no-AC transport bus. The main objective of the scheme is to help the senior citizens cover all the popular religious destinations in the state.

Important highlights of Shravan Tirthdarshan Yojana

  • The scheme is meant only for the senior citizens.
  • 50% of the cost of tirth yatra by non-AC state transport bus would be paid by the state government.
  • Subsidy would be provided only for tirth yatra within Gujarat.
  • Senior citizen belonging to any community can avail the scheme benefits.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Shravan Tirthdarshan Yojana, the applicant
– should be a resident of Gujarat
– should be at least 60 years old.

The interested applicants can apply for the scheme by submitting the prescribed application form and submitting to respective state transport depots. A travel plan of 2 nights and 3 days by a group of senior citizens would have to be made before applying for the scheme.

6. 1.20 Crore LED Bulbs Distributed Under Ujala Gujarat Yojana
Ujala Gujarat Yojana, launched on 26th May by the Chief Minister Anandi Ben Patel has seen a great response from the consumers in the state. Within 2 months of launch, about 1.20 Crore LED bulbs have been distributed under the scheme to 24 lakh families.
On an average, consumers are buying about 2 Lakh LED bulbs every day under the scheme throughout the state. Under the scheme, each household can purchase a maximum of 10 LED bulbs.
Recently the prices of Ujala LED bulbs were also reduced by the state government by Rs. 10. LED bulbs of Ujala Yojana are now available to purchase at Rs. 70-75.
7 watt LED bulb under the scheme can be purchased against a cash payment of Rs. 70. The consumers can also choose to pay through EMI which will be charged in 8-10 installments through the electricity bill. The cost of the each bulb purchased through EMI would be Rs. 75.
The consumers can buy the LED bulbs by showing monthly electricity bill or ID cards. The government has setup 615 distribution centres across the state to implement the scheme.

7. Doodh Sanjeevani Yojana (DSY) to be Extended in Surendaranagar
Doodh Sanjeevani Yojana, an initiative of state Government of Gujarat to tackle malnourishment will now be extended to three talukas of Surendaranagar district. As per the announcement made by the CM of Gujarat, Doodh Sanjeevani Yojana will now be extended to Dhrangadhra, Patdi and Lakhtar.
Under the Yojana, the primary school children in these three districts will get milk with their midday meal. Under the scheme, each primary school student in these three districts will get flavoured milk with the mid day meal. The students will be provided a pouch containing 200ml of flavoured milk along with the mid day meal for the five days a week.
Doodh Sanjeevani Yojana was launched and implemented to improve the nutrition level in children in tribal areas of central and eastern Gujarat. But the scheme has been extended to other developing talukas in order to improve health of children there.
After the inclusion of three new districts, the number of talukas covered under the Doodh Sanjeevani Yojana in Surendranagar has been increased to 6. Children in Chotala, Thangadh and Sayla talukas of the district have been receiving milk since March this year.
DSY has been successful in improving the nutrition level in children in the districts already getting benefits of the scheme.
The number of beneficiaries will go up to 1.08 lakh with an increase of 53,000 in the newly added three districts.

8. Ujala Gujarat Yojana LED Bulb Prices Reduced
Gujarat Government has reduced the prices of LED bulbs being distributed under the Ujala Gujarat Yojana. The prices of the LED bulbs have been reduced by Rs. 10. The LED bulbs under the Ujala Yojana will be available at Rs. 70-75 instead of Rs. 80-85.
The reduced prices will be effective from Monday onward. At present the consumers are being charged Rs. 80 per LED bulb if they buy it in cash or Rs. 85 if buying through installments.
Launched on 26th May 2016, Ujala Gujarat Yojana has seen a great response from the consumers. The state government has already sold 63 Lakh LED bulbs within a month.
Seeing the tremendous success of the scheme, the government has decided to reduce the price of the LED bulb by Rs. 10. However, LED bulbs at reduced prices will be available only to the households not to the commercial/industrial consumers.
Under the scheme, each household is eligible to purchase a maximum of 10 LED bulbs.

9. Ujala Gujarat Yojana for Distribution of LED Bulbs
Gujarat Government has launched the Ujala Gujarat Yojana for distribution of energy saving LED bulbs across the state. The Ujala Gujarat Yojana has been launched under the central government’s Ujala Yojana scheme at a function in Vadodara.

Objective of Ujala Gujarat Yojana

The state government has set a target of providing LED bulbs to 1.21 Crore households across the state in next one year. The main objective of the scheme is to encourage people to adopt sustainable energy options to save and reduce energy costs and consumption.
Under the Ujala Gujarat Yojana, the state government will provide LED bulbs to the state residents at a subsidized rate. The LED bulbs under the scheme will be available at Rs. 80-85 per piece to the domestic consumers while LED bulbs will be sold at Rs. 90 per piece to industries.
A single LED bulb can save upto Rs. 315 a year and installing LED’s throughout the home can save a lot to the domestic consumers. The provided bulbs under the scheme will come with 3 year replacement warranty. The LEDbulbs will consume only 7-8 watt of energy and provide luminosity of 900 lumens.
The state government plans to distribute about 12 Crore LED bulbs to 1.21 crore households within next one year under the Ujala Gujarat Yojana. One household will get a maximum of 10 LED bulbs in the first phase and the amount will be charged in 8-10 installments through the electricity bill.
How to buy LED bulb under Ujala Gujarat Yojana
The consumers can buy the LED bulbs by showing monthly electricity bill or ID cards.
The scheme will not only help save cost to the consumers but also contribute to the energy security of India.

10. Mukhya Mantri Gruh Yojana – Housing Scheme in Gujarat
Mukhya Mantri GRUH Yojana where GRUH stands for “Gujarat Rural Urban Housing” is an affordable housing scheme especially designed for home seekers belonging to EWS and LIG category of the society. Mukhya Mantri (Gujarat Rural Urban Housing) GRUH Yojana was announced during 12th Five-year plan in consideration of growing need for affordable houses in urban areas.

Objective of Mukhya Mantri GRUH Yojana

The main objective of the scheme is to rehabilitate slums in urban areas of the State by the year 2018. The government is committed to provide affordable housing to EWS (Economically Weaker Section) and LIG (Lower Income Group) across the state.

Mukhya Mantri GRUH Yojana for EWS Category

Under the Mukhya Mantri GRUH Yojana, the Gujarat government will provide pucca house to every slum dwelling family and family belonging to economically weaker sections. The minimum carpet area of houses for economically weaker sections will be 25 sq. meters and maximum will be up to 30 sq. meters which will include two rooms, kitchen, bathroom and toilet.
Existing slums in metropolitan, municipal and development authority areas will be rehabilitated by constructing houses in the same place (in situ). Slums which cannot be rehabilitated in the same place will be relocated on government/ULC/ULB/GHB land.
Eligibility/Selection Criteria of EWS Beneficiaries
  • The beneficiaries under the GRUH Yojana will be selected on the basis of any two of the four criteria which includes electricity bill, voter ID card, slum survey or ration card.
  • Allotment of EWS houses under this program will be made to the beneficiaries whose annual family income is less than Rs. 1,00,000/-
  • No family member should have either plot or house in that city and applicant should be adult
    on the date of application.
  • The beneficiaries of slum rehabilitation should be living in slums on or before the Cut- off date of 1/12/2010.
  • Allotment of the houses will be done through the computerized lottery draw.
  • Registration of Houses will be done on hundred rupees stamp paper.
  • All the allotted houses should be registered jointly in the name of husband and wife and wife will have first right.
Financial Assistance
Slum rehabilitation schemes approved by the Central Government will be financed by the Central Government, State Government, local urban bodies and beneficiaries as follows.
Central Government – 50% of the project cost
State Government and Urban local bodies – 38%
Beneficiary contribution – 12% (Beneficiary will contribute Rs. 35,000/- (thirty five thousand) or 12%
of cost of house whichever is more.)
Loan facility will be provided to the eligible beneficiary by the implementing agency. Allottee beneficiary will not be permitted to sell or let out allotted house for 15 years. In case of breach of this condition allotment of house may be cancelled by implementing agency. The ownership of land will remain with urban local bodies.
How to apply
Applications from potential beneficiaries will be collected before beginning project. Housing projects will be built under self-financed scheme. Deposit to be made along with application is Rs. 7,500/- (Rupees seven thousand five
hundred only) for EWS, category.

Mukhya Mantri GRUH Yojana for LIG Category

The state government will encourage and help affordable housing projects for people in lower income group (LIG) to meet the growing need for affordable houses in urban areas.
The minimum carpet area of houses for people in lower income group will be 31 sq. mtrs and maximum will be up to 50 sq. mtrs which will include one bedroom, hall, kitchen, bathroom and toilet.
Eligibility/Selection Criteria of LIG Beneficiaries
  • The selection of LIG beneficiaries under the scheme will be made on the basis on income. The annual family income of the LIG candidates should fall between Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rs. 2,50,000/-
  • No family member should have either plot or house in that city and applicant should be adult
    on the date of application.
  • Allotment of the houses will be done through the transparent computerized lottery draw.
  • Registration of all the beneficiaries with UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) shall be mandatory. Municipal Corporations and Municipalities will carry out this activity.
  • All the allotted houses should be registered jointly in the name of husband and wife and wife will have first right. Concessions in stamp duty will be as per prevailing norms.
Financial Assistance
Under this scheme, amount payable by beneficiary, shall be amount remaining after deduction of subsidy per unit of house or Rs. 7.50 lakh (Rupees Seven Lakh and Fifty Thousand only) to Rs. 11 lakh (Rupees Eleven Lakh only) whichever is less. Implementing agency will coordinate with bank to facilitate loan for beneficiaries.
Allottee beneficiary will not be permitted to sell or let out allotted house for 7 years.
How to apply
Applications from potential beneficiaries will be collected before beginning project. Housing projects will be built under self-financed scheme. Deposit to be made along with application is Rs. 20,000/-(Rupees twenty thousand only) for LIG, category.
Under this scheme one person can submit only one form for single project. However, for different projects separate applications can be made and on being successful in draw in more than one scheme then he will be entitled to get, allotment only in one of the scheme.

Scheme for Incentive to Private EWS and LIG Housing

The state government will also provide interest subsidy to the EWS and LIG applicants on home loan to make the homes even more affordable and easy to buy.
Eligible Beneficiaries purchasing houses under private affordable EWS / LIG housing schemes will be eligible for this subsidy. Banks, Private developers and implementing agency will jointly select beneficiaries.
Under this scheme, the beneficiaries of EWS and LIG category will have to make a minimum down payment
of Rs.50,000/- and Rs. 1,00,000/- respectively.
