CHHATTISGARH GOVERNMENT SCHEMES 

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin Chhattisgarh – 2 Lakh Homes to Be Constructed


Chhattisgarh Government has set a target to build over 2 Lakh homes in the state under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin within 2017. The announcement of increase in the number of homes under PMAY-G on 31st December 2016 has also increased the number of homes to be constructed in the state of Chhattisgarh.
Narendra Singh Tomar,Union Panchayat and Rural Development Minister reviewed the progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin in Chhattisgarh on 2nd January 2017 and praised the work done by the department. He also directed the officials to work on the revised target.
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin, renamed from Indira Awas Yojana has proved to be of great assistance to poor people in rural areas. Under the scheme, the central government has set a target to provide homes to 4 Crore households by the year 2022, in increase of 33% in the previous target.
Narendra Modi also announced the interest subsidy under PMAY-G on 31st December 2016 for loans up to 2 Lakh taken in 2017. Home loans up to Rs. 2 Lakh taken in 2017 for new homes construction or maintenance would be given an interest subsidy of 3%.

Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana Naya Raipur, Chattisgarh – Complete Details
Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana in Chhattisgarh is an affordable housing schemes under which EWS and LIG homes will be constructed. The state government will provide a financial assistance to the eligible EWS and LIG applicants.
Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana in Chhattisgarh is a part of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana of central government. The home buyers under the scheme will get financial assistance from both state and central government. The whole construction, management and sale of the flats will be managed by Chhattisgarh Housing Board.

Grant Benefits of Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana

Under the Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana, a grant of Rs. 1 Lakh to EWS and Rs. 50 thousand per house to LIG will be provided. The grant under the PM Awas Yojana for EWS would be Rs. 1.5 Lakh while the LIG home buyers will get a subsidy of 6.5% on interest rate for upto a loan of Rs. 6 Lakh.

Cost and Area of EWS and LIG Homes

The homes for the economically weaker section of the society would cost about 3.5 lakh while LIG homes would be sold at a starting price of 6.5 lakh only. This is the final cost of the flats after deducting the grants under PM Awas Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojana from the actual cost of the flats.
Both LIG and EWS homes are one BHK with a carper area of approximately 430 sq.ft. and 290 sq.ft. respectively. The Super built up area of the LIG and EWS flats is 589.21 sq.ft. and 383.08 sq.ft. respectively.

Eligibility for the schemes

  • The annual family income of the EWS applicants should not be more than Rs. 3 Lakh.
  • Annual family income limit for LIG applicants is Rs. 3 Lakh to 6 Lakh
  • The beneficiary family includes husband, wife and unmarried children.
  • The beneficiary should not have any home in his/her or children’s name in any part of the country.
  • The applicant should be a resident of urban area to take part in the scheme.
  • Women, Physically Challenged, people belonging to SC/ST will be given preferences under the scheme provided they belong to EWS or LIG category.

PM Awas Yojana Housing Scheme in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh – Foundation Stone Layed
Prime Minister has layed the foundation stone of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Naya Raipur on 21st February 2015. The Chhattisgarh Housing Board will construct homes for EWS and LIG categories under the PM Awas Yojana in Naya Raipur.
Under the PM Awas Yojana, Narendra Modi Government aims to develop a total of 5 crore homes in India by the year 2022. 2 Crore in the urban areas while rest 3 crores homes in the rural areas of the country will be constructed.
According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana would benefit people who cannot afford a house themselves by providing them a financial assistance through various components.
Along with the PM Awas Yojana, PM also unveiled plaque for Foundation Stone of Electronic Manufacturing Cluster and releases Chhattisgarh Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Policy at a function in Naya Raipur on 21st February.
The Indian Government has recently given its approval for construction of about 82000 homes in 7 states across the country taking the total number of sanctioned homes to about 5 Lakh under PM Awas Yojana.
