CHIEF MINISTER SIDDRAMAIAH
Siddaramaiah is an Indian politician who has been the 22nd Chief Minister of Karnataka since 2013. Currently a leader of the Indian National Congress party, Siddaramaiah was a member of various Janata Parivar factions for several years.

KARNATAKA POLITICS FRIENDLIES PROGRAMMES
1. ANNA BHAGYA
The Government of Karnataka’s most ambitious programme Anna Bhagya announced immediately after the formation of Government, has been given a facelift ! Now, the scheme, provides rice to the poor free of cost ( as against Re 1/ kg of rice earlier) and also one Litre of palm oil at Rs 25 and 1 kg iodised salt at Rs. 2, One KG of sugar at a subsidised price of Rs 13.50 per K G is provided. This welfare initiative of the State Government benefits 1.07 Crore families and covers two thirds population of the State almost four Crore people.The State Government’s objective is to make the State hungerfree and eliminate malnutrition.

2. BENEFITS EXTENDED TO APL CARD HOLDERS FROM JUNE 1
The State Government has extended benefits of the supply of subsidised ration for Above Poverty Line ration card holders from June 1. The APL Card Holders would get 5 KG of riceat Rs 15 per Kg and 5 kg of wheat at Rs 10 a KG, besides palm oil and other commodities, at subsidized rates.

3. KSHEERA BHAGYA
Implementation of Ksheera Bhagya Scheme has benefitted over 1 Crore children. The Government aims at tackling malnutrition. 150 ML milk is being provided to children free of charge thrice a week under this scheme.

4. KSHEERA DHAARE
The incentive given for milk producers has been increased from Rs 2 to Rs 4 per litre benefitting about 45 lakh milk producers in the State. The outcome of this increase in the incentive amount has resulted in collection of 55 lakh litres of milk per day.

5. RAJIV AROGYA BHAGYA
The Rajiv Arogya Bhagya, a cash-less scheme for the people belonging to Above Poverty Line, where the beneficiary pays only 30 per cent of the medical expenditure on treatment and the rest 70 per cent is borne by the Government is yet another people-friendly initiative of our Government.
Extending a Helping Hand A novel scheme, where the Government provides for medical expenditure of the victims of the major road accidents for the first three days has been announced.

6. RUNAMUKTA BHAGYA
Waiver of loans taken by the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Minorities, has been done. They are now eligible to get fresh loans to take up new economic activities. Under this scheme, Rs 394.47 crore of dues of 1.86 lakh Scheduled Castes, Rs 68.69 crore of 40,000 Scheduled Tribes, Rs 514 crore of 4.98 lakh Backward Classes and Rs 362.88 crore of 2.94 lakh Minorities were waived-off.

7. VIDYA SIRI
Vidya Siri scheme provides accommodation and food charges of Rs 1500 per month to students of backward classes who can not afford to stay in hostels to pursue education. Now, it has been extended to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. This scheme benefits 75,000 students, every year.

8. HUT FREE STATE 
The Government has set a target of constructing over 12 lakh houses in 5 years at the rate of 3 lakh houses per year. During 201314, 3.17 lakh houses and in 2014—15, 3.02 lakh houses have been built spending Rs 4555 crore. During 2015—16, 4.80 lakh houses are targeted for construction out of which 2.98 lakh houses are being built for SCS and STS whose contribution of Rs 30,000 will be paid by the Government.
The Government has also enhanced the unit subsidy of Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.20 lakh with effect from 2013 — 14 which is applicable to all the housing schemes under implementation in the State.During the last two years, 15,877 sites have been distributed to the poor and during 2015—16, the Government intends to distribute 20,000 sites.An amount of FRS. 3405 Crore has been earmarked during this year for distribution of sites and construction of houses

9. DEVELOPMENT OF HYDERABAD - KARNATAKA AREA
Removal of regional imbalance is one of the foremost priorities. Sustained efforts were made which ultimately culminated in the amendment of the Constitution of India by including Article 371 (J) for the development of Hyderabad — Karnataka Area.
The Government immediately constituted Hyderabad Karnataka Area Development Board which approved an outlay of Rs 862 crore during 2013—14 out of which Rs 330 crore has been spent and 2339 works have been completed.
During 2015—16, Rs.1000 crore has been earmarked to the Board for taking up infrastructure works and reducing institutional gaps.

10. INDUSTRY AND INFRASTRUCTURE 
A New Industrial Policy (2014-19) providing for liberalized and enhanced incentives and concessions has been announced. It aims to attract investment of Rs.5 lakh crore and generate employment potential for 15 lakh persons. The Policy also provides for additional incentives for industries in backward taluks and enhance incentives to women, SC, ST, Backward Classes and Minorities. In the last two years, 362 projects with proposed investment of Rs.95,520 crores providing employment potential for 2,26,995 persons have been approved. Procuring land for industry has been made simpler. New Industrial corridors and National Investment Manufacturing Zone are being established in backward regions viz, Yadgir and Chamarajnagar taluks.
Karnataka has brought out a new Policy for the IT Sector which aims to take IT to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. A number of initiatives are being taken up to encourage growth of start upst Incubations Centre, Skill
Development Programme and providing Wi-Fi in several areas. A Green Field Information Technology Investment Region is being planned.
A New Textile Policy (2013-18) providing for various incentives to the textile sector has been notified. Mega Textile Park, Silk Mega Clusters and Integrated Textile Park are planned to be established.
The State has provided more than Rs.1000 crore for development of various projects in the Railway and other Infrastructure projects in the last two years. City Gas Distribution is also being planned for Bengaluru city
The Congress Led Government follows the great tradition of the Congress Party by extending a Helping Hand to everyone, especially to the poor and the needy, the oppressed and the weaker sections, in the next three years. Karnataka will be a role model to be emulated.
